The House of Tudor was an English dynasty that produced five monarchs who ruled the Kingdom of England from 1485 to 1603.
The three prominent monarchs of the dynasty were Henry VII, Henry VIII, and Elizabeth I.
The connection between the White Lion and the other Queen’s Beasts reliefs to the House of Tudor is that these beasts represented these prominent monarchs who ruled during that period.
Therefore, the Royal Mint company, in a design by Jody Clark, depicted the White Lion, attributed to Henry VIII of the House of Tudor, holding the royal shield symbolizing the power of the royal family.
The obverse of the coin features the Queen’s Lion, a proud and powerful symbol, supporting a shield with Jane Seymour’s royal emblem, representing her status and the Tudor legacy. Above the lion is the inscription “QUEEN’S LION”, and below it is the year of issue 2026.
The reverse of the coin features a portrait of King Charles III surrounded by his name, royal titles, the face value, and the year of issue 2026.
